Film Still: Taso Papadakis

Happy new year friends and lovers,

It’s here and it’s full; we move forward, ever forward!
I want to thank you for your support in 2015 and invite you to join us for this little winter chapter:
New York, my love.

The Other Side of Stillness | Installation was selected for the Work In Progress Screening at this year’s Dance on Camera Festival thanks to Dance Film Association’s Production Grant. Not only am I showing the dual-channel video installation, but the marvelous Sarah Leddy and Madison Page are coming with me to perform live for the first time with their on-screen selves!

We’ll have a conversation moderated by Creative Capital artist Yara Travieso and the best part? It’s free. Come early to experience the performance and secure a seat at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center Amphitheater.

While in town, it is my honor to perform a solo made for me by the extraordinarily detailed and thoughtful choreographer Victoria Marks. She says of the piece:

Tourette Floret was initially constructed using my son’s tics. I have added a few of my own. This piece was made with his permission.”

See you soon!
And wishing you an auspicious start to this new year –
in light and gratitude,
alexx
