Join alexx makes dances for a collaborative evening of new dance and performance work surrounding the theme of GOLD.
Returning to ARC, Gold Series is a dance performance series curated around the theme of “gold.” While last year’s Gold Series No. 1 was about the glory and showmanship of gold and all of its shades, Gold Series No. 2 speaks to the weight of gold, groundedness, rootedness and the immediacy of holding up that which has value for us in this moment, humanity’s golden hour.
Gold Series No. 2 will feature original works by dance artists Madison Clark, Sarah Leddy, Carol McDowell, Daniel Miramontes, alexx shilling, and guest artists Tyler Rai (MA), Richard Rivera (NY), Heyward Bracey, Rosemary Candelario (TX), and Nguyên Nguyên. Performances will take place at ARC in Pasadena on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 at 8:30pm.
The evening is comprised of six dance works: mine. (Clark), Golden Nuggets: Harbor, Noetic Gestures and Soft Rise (a bricolage of dance practices directed by Leddy, McDowell, Miramontes and Shilling) glacial erratics (for those who harbor) (Rai), X01RA7R (Rivera), and CONFLUENCE (Bracey, Candelario, Nguyên).
