“The ‘exclusivity’ (structure) of the (performance) space is shattered/dissolved from the beginning. I am invited into the space, I am led into it, given a ‘blind tour’, there is a relationship of trust already – gentle, open, full of wonder, the unknown – so that I am entering a space (void) in (out of) which a new world is about to be born, (constructed, conceived, encouraged, nudged … into existence)… Throughout the performance the space continues to evolve – it is alive, fluid, unconfined. This is its nature. But the feeling of partaking of – and not only witnessing – this elemental process is a remarkable experience. Subtle, powerful.” – Paul Baxter, UK
IMAGE ACTION creates a contained environment for the imagination to unfold, transporting the viewer into an unfamiliar world-that brings about stillness and illumination.
An evening-long dance experiment by Laurel Jenkins Tentindo including a collaboration with Robbie Cook. Performers include Alexx Shilling, Madison Page, Barry Brannum, Fernando Sosa, and Samantha Mohr. Costumes by Maria Garcia. A post show discussion will be led by Alexx Shilling.
Laurel Jenkins Tentindo, an acclaimed member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company from 2007-2012, performed repertory spanning Ms. Brown’s 40-year career, and developed original roles in Brown’s final four pieces.
